Responsibilities

KEY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with the print manager to set up presses for quality print jobs to match customer order specifications and ensure production schedules are met timely.

  • Promptly correct machinery malfunctions and notify the print manager.

  • Oversees the starting and stopping of presses, housekeeping, catching, stacking the floor, cleaning and quality control.

  • Utilize customer color standard charts and sample containers for color and print comparison.

  • Lubricate and replace any missing parts. Clean dryer parts, presses and fountains.

  • Will notify the Print Manager of production, scrap and fill out any documentation and production reports.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area

  • Inspect product to insure quality. Set aside product that is below quality standards. Work closely with Leads and alert Mold Tech and Supervisor of any quality issues or reject conditions. Watch molds for irregularities or sticking. Timely response to quality issues is key to this position.

  • Complete assembly of product by installing gaskets in lids and handles in containers as required while keeping up with the production machines cycles

  • Flame containers and lids when required.

  • Stack and pack product per instructions that vary with different customers and orders

  • Prepare proper product identification and/or packaging labels

  • Assist with material handling and other tasks as needed

  • When the machine experiences an interruption in production, the packer/handler will take this available time to clean up oil, sweep, mop, make boxes or other tasks that may be assigned by the team leader or supervisor.

  • Accurately complete any required paperwork

  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned

Qualifications

Feeder Packer

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized work area

  • Will assist in housekeeping when the print operation is down for change over, allowing for a  safe work area

  • Will inspect containers for quality defects before printing and after printing, have the ability to stop the press or equipment when a malfunction occurs

  • Will follow Plant and Department safe practices including bending, lifting and housekeeping

  • Will sign or initial each proper tray pack label for shipping

  • Will work with the Lead Printer to understand the customer order; type of product to be printed on, quantity of printed product and the quality criteria of the print to be placed on each piece

  • Understand the stack and quantity per tray, the direction of the product stack on the tray:  openings up or down, handles turned in and proper labeling

  • Know how to properly place container onto the mandrel to avoid damaging the product or equipment

  • Will not allow containers to back up in the dryer

Molding Technician

Responsibilities

  • Set up machines for operation, change material and color to meet production schedules

  • Make appropriate adjustments to machines to affect efficient production levels and document appropriately; respond to QA Techs and SPC charts

  • Oversee proper packaging procedures

  • Review production schedules and ensure machines are running production to meet customer demands

  • Respond to alarms and/or requests for assistance to correct machine malfunctions and/or Packer/Handler problems.

  • Use proper Lockout/tagout procedures

  • Coordinate with Quality Assurance and Maintenance Departments concerning machine operations and malfunctions

  • Assist with Material Handling (Line Driving)

  • Understand all duties and responsibilities of the Shift Supervisor in case of absence.

  • Inspect scrap and document all production numbers.

  • Assure all paperwork is completely filled out on a daily basis; i.e. daily process records, machine cleaning, etc.

  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned

  • Responsible for ensuring safety, quality and housekeeping standards are maintained in the production department.

  • Coordinate with the Shift Supervisor and the team leaders the supplies needed for each production run, including returning inventory of unused supplies.

  • Be knowledgeable of inventory procedures, following product guidelines

  • Know and conduct quick start up and shut down emergency procedures. 

Qualifications

  • Technical understanding of injection-molding processes and procedures

Quality Assurance Technician

Responsibilities

  • At the beginning of each shift check the production schedule, walk the floor to become familiar with the products that are running, and consult with the outgoing technician for any items of concern.   

  • Collect samples from each injection molding machine, secondary process, and print line for the required attribute / dimensional / functional testing per the specified frequency.  Record the results on the appropriate forms.

  • Notify the Shift Supervisor of any non-conformances that are found.  Monitor active concerns for prompt resolution and elevate issue up the Management chain if the non-conformance is not being addressed.

  • Notify Quality Control Manager of any quality defects which are not corrected promptly.

  • Identify non-conforming product with “Hold” labels and update the hold log.

  • Update X Bar R charts as required.

  • Perform in-process attribute verifications and document checks.  Record the results on the Quality Monitor.

  • Perform first shot verifications and document the results using the appropriate forms.

  • Assist as necessary with LDR verifications.

  • Notify the Quality Control Manager immediately of any Quality Department equipment deficiencies.

  • At the end of the a shift communicate any ongoing concerns / lingering issues to incoming technician.   

  • All other duties as assigned by the Quality Control Manager.

 

Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • Must be capable of lifting up to 45 pounds, posses good math, communication and organizational skills.

  • Detail-oriented.

  • Skilled in the use of measuring devises, such as height gages and calipers.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • Excellent mathematics and problem solving skills.

  • Technical background and/or experience in QA.

Responsibilities

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The Mechanics report directly to the Maintenance Manager and are responsible for inspecting, servicing, troubleshooting and repairing all plant equipment assigned to him/her.

  • In-depth knowledge of all plant machinery operations is required.

  • In performing these responsibilities, associates are to work safely, efficiently, and cooperatively in a manner that demonstrates team member involvement.

  • Mechanics must follow a systematic process for accomplishing preventive, scheduled and emergency equipment maintenance.

  • Mechanics must be knowledgeable of industrial electricity (all phases and voltages), mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic operations, troubleshooting techniques, blueprint, schematic analysis and proper use of tools and diagnostic equipment.

  • Mechanics must demonstrate proper documentation and housekeeping practices to insure quality maintenance is being performed and communicated.

  • Mechanics have the responsibility for identifying equipment deficiencies which affect quality control, wear and tear and excess costs.

 

Qualifications

  • Work in a professional manner with other maintenance personnel as needed to keep all equipment in top working order resulting in only quality product being released to the customer.

  • Troubleshoot, remove and replace different types of electronic, electromechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and optic systems.

  • Pre-inspect parts or equipment to be repaired to determine what parts, supplies, forms, tools, tool repair and shop equipment are required; and communicate with Maintenance Manager.

  • Read programmable controller information to diagnose complex problems.

  • Diagnose and repair AC and DC motor controls.

  • Replace belts, pulleys, cables, chains, bearings, gears and related equipment

  • Communicate with other plant personnel when requested to, to review deficiencies.

  • Accurately log all work performed.

  • Maintain work areas in a clean orderly manner.

  • Operate a forklift safely and efficiently.

  • Be thoroughly familiar with plant lockout/tagout procedures, electrical safety, hazard communication program, personal protective equipment and other safety programs and apply these procedures when working on equipment.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • Work off of a ladder or in high or cramped spaces.

  • Must be skillful in diagnosing and repairing plastic injection molding equipment and accessories. Talented in troubleshooting industrial motors, starters, controls, and panels.

  • High school education or GED equivalent, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Good hand and eye coordination is essential.

  • Demonstrated dexterity in using hand tools.

  • Ability to lift 100 pounds and carry 50 pounds safely.

  • Ability to intermittently sit, bend, climb, twist, crouch, reach, and lower.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required to transfer and to interpret the explanation of problems and to receive and understand work assignments.

  • Injection molding machine abilities preferred.

  • Electrical back ground.
