Housekeeper 1

SUMMARY:  The Housekeeper I provides daily cleaning of Supply rooms, Nursing Stations, Lounges, Bathrooms and offices, and any other areas assigned in accordance with standard procedures of the Housekeeping Department

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Performs cleaning functions in assigned areas following schedule and using prescribed methods, such as dusting, emptying waste baskets, dry, wet mop floor and etc.

  2. Clean bathrooms, fixtures and office furniture.

  3. Maintain assigned equipment for cleanliness.

  4. Observe and report need for equipment, furniture, building and fixture repairs as needed.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge and observance of safety precautions

Must have the ability to maintain high degree of confidentiality

Dependable/Self Starter

 

EDUCATION and or EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

 

SKILLS APTITIDES:

Must be able to demonstrate after training, the correct use of chemicals supplies and tool assignment

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Must be able to read, write, and speak English

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Basic math skills to include addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division

                       

REASONING ABILITY:

Must be able to make common sense decisions to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instruction. 

Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

 PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must have sufficient mobility and dexterity to safely climb ladders, steps, etc.

Must have sufficient mobility and dexterity to safely operate cleaning equipment.

Must be able to see and hear.

Must be able to bend ,stoop, bend and lift up to 25 pounds

Use prosthetic or mechanical devices may be used to adequately to ensure that the requirements of this position can be safely met. Devices may not be such that they interfere with normal safety aides (modified if necessary).

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Works in well-lighted and ventilated area(s) as well as throughout the facility.

Works in busy sometimes hectic atmosphere

Requires some weekend, nights, holidays and overtime

Is subject to frequent interruptions

Work with minimum supervision

May be exposed to infectious waste diseases, conditions and etc. including Hepatitis B Virus
